Episode Recap:

Randi, Kat, Carter, and Max are all at the bar. A young social media celebrity singer named Pippa walks in. Apparently her mom heard one of Max’s songs and wants her to do a collaboration. She is the hyperbole of gen z - constantly taking selfies with various products and throwing out insulting comments to each member of the crew.

Phil, Oscar, Kat, and Sheila are at the cafe. Someone just quit the bowling team that Phil and Oscar are on so they have a vacancy to fill. They invite Kat to join despite Sheila’s warnings that Kat is not good at bowling.

Max and Pippa are at the piano. Max is trying to get started on their new song collaboration but Pippa keeps taking selfies instead. Max is getting frustrated and says that Pippa is talented but needs to try harder with actual music instead of superficial content creation. Pippa is annoyed and leaves.

Phil, Oscar, and Kat are at the bowling alley. Oscar hits a strike. Phil bowls and gets 1 pin. Kat bowls directly into the gutter. Oscar gives Kat a tip about using the lines in the lane and Kat immediately begins to see the bowling lane as a math equation. It all starts to make sense and on her next attempt she gets 7 pins. A montage ensues where Kat starts hitting strikes with everyone at the alley looking on. Oscar is thrilled at first but slowly seems to be getting jealous, since he was the best on the team before Kat.

Kat has a whiteboard showing the bowling team how bowling is just mathematical equations. If they can improve their game they can keep rising up the ranks.

Randi is teaching Max and Carter a dance so for a music video to help Max go viral.

The team is at the bowling alley. Kat is giving everyone tips and trash talking. Oscar suggests that she lower the intensity a bit since they’re just bowling to have fun.

Pippa is performing at the bar. Max comes over and asks what she’s doing there. Apparently her manager heard Max’s song and wants him to start writing songs for Pippa. He agrees and is excited to finally be getting paid to make music.

Kat has brought the bowling team from 17th place up to 8th. Oscar and Kat are driving home. Oscar tells Kat that she’s the type of person who shines wherever she goes. Oscar had enjoyed shining somewhere, even if it was just for a subpar bowling team. He tells her that this is his problem to work on, not hers, but Kat still wants to find a way to help.

The crew shares a toast at the bar to Max’s new musical career.

End of episode.

Memorable Quote:

Pippa to Max: “It’s not because I can’t take criticism, it’s because I won’t take criticism.”
