Episode Recap:
Carter gets spooked by a noise in the bar and runs over to the cafe, telling Phil that he thinks there’s a ghost in the basement. Phil tells him that ghosts are definitely real, and that they love basements.
They tiptoe down to the basement with a bucket full of flour and a baseball bat. Someone in a hood steps out of a door, Phil and Carter scream.
Kat and Randi hear the scream and run over. When they come downstairs they find Max covered in flour - apparently he’s been evicted and secretly living in the basement for the past two weeks. He’s been short on rent and was too embarrassed to tell the crew.
We find out that Max is very bad with money. He asks Kat for help since she’s great with numbers. Carter offers to let Max sleep on his couch until he saves enough money to move out.
Sheila walks into the cafe and asks Randi if she can take photos for her new dating profile, since Randi recently started taking photography classes.
Kat disapprovingly looks over Max’s finances - he has debt on seven credit cards and consistently makes impractical purchases. He needs to create a budget and stop spending needlessly.
Randi is taking photos of Sheila at the apartment. Sheila keeps changing into different outfits. It’s taking a long time, and Randi is losing steam.
Max walks into the bar wearing a new pair of glow-in-the-dark shoes. Carter calls Kat and she walks in to scold Max for buying the shoes. He goes back to the store to return them.
Sheila looks at the photos and insultingly tells Randi that she shouldn’t have “hired an amateur”. Randi storms off.
Carter, Randi, Max, and Kat are at the bar. Carter says his friend can get them all backstage passes for the Florida Georgia Line concert for only $80. Max wants to go but Kat says they’re out of budget for him.
Kat confronts Sheila about what she said to Randi. Sheila doesn’t realize she was rude. Phil sits down and asks Sheila how the dating app is going. She says it hasn’t started because she hasn’t found a good photo to use. Phil says he’s still seeing Nurse Nelson, and tells her she should take the advice she gave him a few episodes prior to put herself out there. Sheila is scared but she agrees with Phil.
Max is sleeping on Carter’s couch and has a dream. He’s an old man, and CJ (Carter's son) tells him it’s been 30 years and that he needs to leave. He wakes up freaking out and is finally motivated to change.
Sheila apologizes to Randi for treating her poorly while she was trying to help her. Sheila admits that she’s scared of looking old and desperate on the app. Randi says she’s hearing a lot of “what men think” and not what she thinks. Randi suggests a new photoshoot where Randi gets to call the shots - with the goal of helping Sheila feel sexy.
Kat is at the bar with Carter, they’re talking about how fun the concert was. Max walks in wearing a cowboy costume. Max got a second job, working as a cowboy at children’s birthday parties. He’s finally taking his life into his own hands. He doesn’t get paid much but gets great tips.
